Virginia Gay is an Australian actress, writer, and director, mostly known for her work on the Australian TV dramas Winners & Losers (as Frances James) and All Saints (as Gabrielle Jaeger).
Television favourite Virginia Gay regularly gets recognised in the street — but for all the wrong reasons. For Virginia — fresh out of drama school when she joined All Saints in season nine — it was a dream job that came her way through a quirk of fate. Students in her year at the WA Academy of Performing Arts were invited to film a mock audition for producers, simply as an experiment.
Before All Saints Virginia was involved in local Perth theatre, theatresports and singing. Virginia also loves yoga, writing comedy, old movies, live music, festivals, theatre and the circus. What I love about being in the cast of All Saints "Every morning, I wake up and think, this can't be happening.
Virginia has also performed at Adelaide Cabaret Festival several times over the years in shows including Dirty Pretty Songs , Songs to Self-Destruct To and Gentlemen Prefer Blokes. On opening night of Adelaide Cabaret Festival on June 9, Virginia was met with rave reviews and applause for her role as the charismatic host of the sold-out opening night of The Variety Gala at Festival Theatre. This year will also see Virginia take to the ballroom stage on the brand-new dazzling season of Channel 7s Dancing with the Stars , starting tonight.

She developed a taste for the arts from a young age when her parents were involved in amateur dramatics.
Virginia comments on her character - Gabrielle "She's who I want to be. She's brave and funny and loyal and caring, and she's not afraid to acknowledge where she comes from or who she is. She's a country girl with attitude who doesn't take anything from anyone, but she can be playful and sexy.
Virginia has written two plays, both recently produced by major theatre companies. Her first — a highly-anticipated, queer, female adaptation of Cyrano MTC which she was also starring in — shut down hours before opening due to a lockdown. Her second play, The Boomkak Panto which she also starred in, and co-directed , was commissioned and produced by Belvoir St Theatre, received rave reviews, featuring new songs by Tony-nominee Eddie Perfect.
